A thought that was posed to me by a movie that i found damn interesting if a little disturbing in places --- [[[ Jacobs Ladder ]]] --- is the the fact that no matter what happens in your life, and if you believe in such things as angels and daemons, how do you tell if an event that could be looked on as say slightly bad is not the lesser of two evils and is in fact protecting you from a more evil fate?
"example..." i hear a distant voice mutter in to their coffee... what i mean is say, rushing to work you forget about your briefcase, and leave it on the train; cursing at your own stupidness you turn up at work having lost quite a bit of work that needs to be re-done. What you never find out was that your briefcase had actually been rigged to emit a strong enough electric shock through its handle at precisely 30 minutes after you lost it - strong enough to trigger a heart attack - making your death seem natural... Your would be assassins find out about your supposed "loss of briefcase" and figure you have more nouse than they first thought and decide to give you a break. All the while you are annoyed at having such a bad day - when in reality it could have been a lot worse - an occurrence you are counting as bad was actually in fact good.
Okay, maybe i could have chosen a more realistic example but hey worse things happen at sea which is precisely what i was trying to avoid...! But you should (if not also being a little worried) have at least got my point that angels and daemons are interchangeable and very difficult to tell apart...!
The moral of this webpage is that the next time you have something frustrating or sods lawish occuring to you - count yourself lucky that you escaped a quite probable and devilishly unexpected end...!
